Share-link
Send your client a link. Get selects back by morning.
Share-link is an upcoming workflow feature: generate a mobile-friendly review link from any cull session, send it to your couple, your art director, or the bride's mother. They rate and comment on selects from any device. The ratings come back into ShotSelect — no app to install, no account to make.
No spam. One email when your invite is ready. Unsubscribe with one click. Prefer email? hello@shotselect.app.
What you get as a beta tester
- Early invites for your studio. First 200 beta seats get the feature ahead of public launch.
- Free for the entire beta. When Share-link graduates to a paid workflow tier, beta testers get a generous discount on the first year.
- A direct line to the build. Bug reports and feature requests go to the person writing the code, not a support queue.
- Shape the privacy contract. The default upload scope, retention window, and revocation flow are all in active design. Beta feedback steers the defaults.
Why we're shipping this carefully
ShotSelect's free tier is built on a promise: on the free tier, your photos stay on your Mac. Share-link breaks that promise in exactly one direction — when you choose to share a session, the selects you mark as shareable get uploaded so your client can see them on their phone.
That's a meaningful change, so we're shipping it with explicit guardrails:
- Opt-in per session. A folder doesn't get uploaded by existing. You generate a link from the session you choose.
- Only what's marked shareable. Rejects, drafts, and anything you didn't tick as a select stay local.
- You set the retention. Auto-expire in 7 / 30 / 90 days, or revoke the link manually at any time.
- End-to-end audit trail. Every view, rating, and comment is logged so you know who saw what.
- Watermark by default. Optional client-facing preview watermarking, off if you want it off.
- Resolution capped to preview. Clients see web-resolution previews. The originals never leave your Mac.
What the client sees
A clean, mobile-friendly gallery. Swipe through selects, tap a heart to favourite, leave a short comment on any frame, return to ShotSelect via push or email when they're done. No login. No app install. Works on the bride's iPhone in landscape on the couch — that's the actual usage pattern we're optimising for.
What's the timeline?
Closed beta opens in waves over the coming months. First wave is wedding photographers culling 1,000–5,000-frame shoots, because that's where the workflow saves the most time. Sports, commercial, and event photographers come next.
If you have a specific shoot coming up where Share-link would change your workflow, mention it in the signup — we prioritise testers with concrete use cases.
